ProSiebenSat.1 acquires Austria’s ATV

ProSiebenSat.1, via its subsidiary PULS 4, has acquired Austrian TV group ATV from Tele München.
Markus Breitenecker, MD at ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4, said: “The objective of the acquisition is to integrate ATV into ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 Group and thus to strengthen ATV’s position on the Austrian TV market sustainably.”
Dr. Herbert G. Kloiber, the chairman of Tele München, added: “I’m glad that we found the best solution for the company’s continuance.”
ATV went on air in 2003, with ATV2 coming in 2011 and ATVsmart in 2016. The sale must now be be approved by the media and antitrust authorities in Austria.
