Netflix enables downloads to Android SD cards
January 25, 2017
Netflix users on Android devices can now download content to their device’s SD card – meaning they are no longer restricted to their size of their device’s memory capacity when storing content.
When saving a programme or movie for offline viewing (a feature which Netflix added last month), Android users will now be prompted to choose a download location – Device Storage or SD card.
A spokesperson for Netflix told Engadget: “You can download content to multiple SD cards. However, there are limits to how many simultaneous downloads a member can download at one time, along with limits on how long a download will remain accessible. This ensures that the feature is being used for its intended purpose.”
Additionally, users won’t be able to share SD cards between multiple devices as the content on the card will only play on the device that it was originally downloaded with.
