Telefónica launches Movistar e-sports

Spain’s Telefónica has reached a strategic agreement with e-sports company ESL to develop a platform with exclusive content for its Movistar+ brand in Spain and to create a professional club for electronic sports.
Telefónica will launch a dedicated channel – Movistar eSports – covering matches from leagues such as ESL One, ESL Intel Extreme and ESL Masters Series.
The company has also set up an e-sports club called Movistar Riders made up of various professional video game teams based at the Movistar Game Centre.
