Twitter adds live video
December 15, 2016
Twitter users can now stream stream live video directly from the app, in a similar way to Facebook and YouTube. The new service is in the process of being rolled out across all Android and iOS devices globally.
Periscope already offered the feature via Twitter – but the update allows users to go live straight from the Twitter app, regardless of whether they have a Periscope account.
In a blog post, the social media company said: “Live video brings moments and events to life in a way that no other medium can. Exploring a new city? Find yourself in the middle of something amazing? Celebrating your team’s big end of season win? Go live on Twitter and let others experience it with you.”
