Subhash Chandra’s Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) is setting up its own satellite Earth Station and teleport to uplink its portfolio of satellite channels. India’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has granted ZEEL an uplinking licence.
Previously, ZEEL has used the satellite uplink services at Dish TV (which is also majority owned by Chandra’s companies).
Comments in India’s Television Post news site says there will be no overlap between the Dish and new ZEEL uplinking facilities.
ZEEL operates 55 broadcast channels, and will further develop its Noida teleport facility, near New Delhi.
