Giant cinema screen operator IMAX has renewed and expanded its existing multi-screen deal with 21st Century Fox. Its first deal with Fox was signed back in October 2015.
This new agreement covers Fox’s IMAX formatted movies and includes plenty of tempting content including Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Predator, Alita: Battle Angel and an as-yet untitled Marvel film. Each of these will be digitally remastered into the IMAX format.
“After sharing success with such recent box-office hits as the global phenomenon Deadpool, we are thrilled to sweeten the existing deal with our friends and partners at Twentieth Century Fox by providing IMAX fans worldwide a selection of the studio’s most exciting upcoming blockbusters,” said Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and SVP/IMAX Corp. “With this agreement, we look forward to expanding our partnership with Fox and together offer fans around the world IMAX’s one-of-a-kind movie-going experience.”
IMAX, as at June 30th, had 1102 screens in 69 countries.
