Nicolotti Squires for Director of Content Sky News

Sky News has appointed Cristina Nicolotti Squires as Director of Content. She will be in charge of output across all Sky platforms including television, mobile, social media and radio. She will also head up special programming including Sky News documentaries, debate programmes and the weekly panel show, The Pledge.
Cristina has over twenty years of experience working as a journalist for ITN holding a variety of positions throughout her career. She joins Sky from 5 News where she is Editor, leading a team of 50 staff to deliver daily news programming for the channel.
Before heading up 5 News, Cristina was Assistant Editor and Head of Output for ITV News where she oversaw programming around the 2004 US Election, ITV’s Royal Wedding special in 2010 and The Queens’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012. Other positions she has held at ITN include Programme Editor for ITV News at Ten, Programme Editor for ITV Lunchtime News and Head of Home News for ITV News. Her work has led to major awards including the RTS Programme of the Year for News at Ten in 2010 and a BAFTA for the Haiti earthquake coverage in the same year, as well as an International Emmy for news coverage of the Mozambique floods in 2000.
Cristina will be a key member of the Sky News senior leadership team and will work closely with Head of Sky News, John Ryley, Deputy Head, Graham McWilliam and Director of Newsgathering and Operations, Jonathan Levy.
