Philippines: Inview middleware for Cignal
August 19, 2016
Cignal TV, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of PLDT, has selected Inview, the broadcast and OTT software and service specialist, to provide the middleware for its SD, HD and Hybrid range of DTH set-top boxes.
Inview will be supplying a high quality user interface, EPG and value added services such as advertising on all Zapper satellite boxes currently provided by Skyworth and Arion, with cardless conditional access from Conax.
Cignal will be able to better monetise content through Inview’s integrated advertising service, where advertising banners will be displayed for the user to click through to a related full screen advert. Inview’s set of web based consoles will enable Cignal to easily ingest, distribute and manage content over the entire digital network.
Inview will also support Cignal’s future roadmap including its OTT set-top boxes and multiscreen platform in order to provide a unified branding and user experience across all of Cignal’s product range.
Julie Austin, CEO of Inview commented: “We are excited to be supplying the middleware for Cignal – the DTH market leader in the Philippines. Our platform will allow Cignal to directly communicate with their customers, promote content throughout the UI and present it in a very user friendly and intuitive way”
“Inview’s experience in delivering high quality user interface design with future proof value added services made them the natural partner for us. We are very pleased to be working with Inview to provide our customers with a consistent and compelling viewing experience, which can be rolled out quickly and efficiently across all of our products” said Jane J. Basas, President of Cignal TV.
