Vubiquity extends Sky contract
August 10, 2016
Premium content delivery specialist Vubiquity has announced a significant multi-year extension to its wholesale content supply chain contract with Sky. The exclusive deal means Vubiquity will ensure Sky’s content is managed and delivered promptly to the catch-up and on-demand services of Sky’s wholesale customers in the UK such as Virgin Media, TalkTalk and BT.
Vubiquity has managed this content supply chain for Sky since 2012. It provides Sky with a full suite of digital services, ensuring Sky’s content is prepared to the correct specification and delivered on time as part of their wholesale deals. Vubiquity processes and delivers more than 5,000 hours of content every month for Sky, including turning around both pre-recorded and live content to catch-up services within 12 hours.
Mark Winterbottom, Director of Sky Channel Distribution at Sky, said: “It is crucial that we fulfil our obligations to our wholesale partners. Vubiquity delivers on time, every time with this service in a professional manner that gives us no hesitation to extend our agreement.”
