Lagardère stops June TV, preps Elle Girl
July 20, 2016
From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
French media group Lagardère has confirmed that its June TV channel, launched in 2004 for the 15-25 female demographic, is set to be replaced by Elle Girl, a new pay-TV brand adapted from the Elle press brand. With the promise to be “feminine, smart and cool” the new channel will extend the audience of June TV targeting young and older women aged 18 to 49 and will be exclusive to the Canalsat platform
The editorial line is set to be similar to that of a project formerly entitled Elle TV that Lagardère pitched for the HD DTT bids in 2012 but which was not selected by regulator CSA. Fashion, beauty, news, documentaries, exclusive series and TV shows animated by celebrities will be the heart of the line-up.
June TV will cease transmitting next month whilst Elle Girl will launch in mid-September.
