From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE is throwing itself into the coverage of Brazil’s Olympic Games with a huge deployment of technical and human resources that will include 360 coverage of the event.
The pubcaster will broadcast over 6,000 hours of VoD content as well as 4,500 hours of live online video and multiplatform coverage. The company will use its TV channels La 1 and the sports channel Teledeporte to air 600 hours of live programming with 120 people on the ground in Brazil and 141 people in Madrid.
The director of TVE, Eladio Jareño, said that this time the Olympics will be very important in social networks, so the company will make available the TV content to all devices and platforms: web, mobile phones, tablets “through our Botón Rojo app (red button)”.
