Prashant Chothani, CEO of Mumbai-based travel and lifestyle channel TravelXP says it will launch a UHD version this coming October.
Chothani, a regular at MIPtv and MIPCOM, has already shot around 100 hours of UHD programming and is looking to add another 50 or so hours with the emphasis on High Dynamic Range material.
He told IndianTelevision.com that he has, to date, invested around $2 million in capturing 4K content. Chothani added that his team is in discussion with SES and others about DTH carriage and that he has commitments from 20 cable, IP and DTH platforms to take his signals once they begin broadcasting.
