beIN completes Digitürk acquisition

Qatar’s beIN Media Group has completed the acquistion of Turkish pay-TV company Digitürk for a fee reported to be in the region of $1 billion.
Digitürk was 53.3 per cent owned by Çukurova Holdinga snd 46.7 per cent owned by private equity group Providence Equity.
Digitürk currently has an estimated 3.5 million pay-TV subscribers.
Earlier this year beIN Media acquired US Hollywood Studio Miramax for a fee also rumoured to about $1 billion.
