Mexico has finalised its plans for DTT adoption by publishing a list of 69 potential new digital TV channels.
The country’s Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) regulator has allocated the channels in accordance with Mexico’s 2013 Telcoms Act, and some will go to the nation’s public broadcast system, the National Polytechnic Institute, various regional governments and the University of Guadalajara as well as others.
Last December IFT allocated 141 frequencies for 141 regional digital TV channels spread over the various Mexican states.
