UK ad market up 7.5% in 2015

The UK ad market grew 7.5 per cent to £20.1 billion (€25.9bn) last year, the fastest rate of growth seen since the end of the advertising recession in 2010, according to a report by the Advertising Association/Warc expenditure.
It was a solid year for TV advertising, which rose 7.3 per cent to £5.2 billion, with the budding VoD ad market rising 21 per cent to £175 million.
It was, as ever, a great year for Internet advertising which grew 17.3 per cent year on year to £8.6 billion. Within digital, mobile continues to drive growth up 61 per cent to £2.6 billion.
Cinema advertising also enjoyed a prosperous year, up 21 per ceny thanks to the hugely popular return of Star Wars, Jurassic Park and James Bond.
The only notable fall came in the national newspaper division, with newspaper brands reported an 11 per cent fall in ad spend to £1.2 billion in 2015
