Hong Kong: now TV, Netflix partnership

now TV, Hong Kong’s largest pay-TV provider, and Netflix have announced a partnership that will see Netflix delivered to customers through now TV’s set-top boxes and the new 4K all-in-one appliance “now one” from the second quarter of 2016. This makes now TV the first broadcaster in Hong Kong to provide Netflix via its set-top boxes.
Loke Kheng Tham, PCCW’s Executive Vice President of Pay TV, said, “This partnership will enable now TV customers to enjoy high quality content through the Netflix app which is directly integrated into our set-top boxes and “now one”, our new ultra-HD 4K all-in-one appliance, for the best big screen experience. Integration of Netflix into our service demonstrates our firm commitment to offering the widest possible range of content and functionality to our customers.”
now TV customers with a Netflix membership will be able to watch popular Netflix original series such as Master of None, Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and Orange is the New Black as well as a wide variety of documentaries and feature films.
