France: Canal+ seeks beIN Sports exclusive
February 18, 2016
Canal+ and beIN Sports have signed a draft exclusive distribution agreement, according to French daily Le Monde.
If the deal is concluded, then Canal+ and CanalSat will hold exclusive distribution rights to distribute beIN Sports – which currently holds the rights to Champions League football and France’s Ligue – 1 in the country.
Canal+ has reportedly already sent the draft agreement to the competition authority. Any such deal will be of benefit to both parties, who are making substantial losses.
