Insight, an all-Ultra HD channel currently on air over much of Europe, Russia and Asia, is to launch in the US within the next few months.
Rian Bester, broadcast operations adviser to TERN (the TV Entertainment Reality Network) which backs Insight, also told delegates at a ReelScreen ‘Keeping up with 4K’ conference that while some content producers are complaining about the cost of data storage when shooting in UHD, Insight has invested time and money in optimising its workflows to minimise costs.
“We do conversions on site as we shoot to transfer into different mediums and then back when we go to post in our play-out,” Bester advised delegates.
