PEMRA: 2.5m illegal DTH users in Pakistan

December 7th will see Pakistan’s media regulator, PEMRA, issue 3 new DTH licences in an attempt to help curb the huge number of “illegal” viewers in the nation who access forbidden Indian transmissions.
“We have raided, seized and destroyed 2,500 DTH [dishes and receivers] in Islamabad and Lahore,” said Fakharuddin Mughal, Pemra’s spokesman. “We are doing all we can to stop the illegal use.”
