November 30, 2015
Nearly one out of every six homes in the Netherlands had a subscription to Netflix in the third quarter, according to research conducted by Telecompaper.
This equates into 1.2 million homes and, up from the 1.1 million recorded in the second quarter (which was roughly 1 in 7 homes). About 43% of the subscriptions are taken by families with children living at home.
The research also shows that smart TVs and tablet are popular among Dutch Netflix subscribers. A smart TV is present in 56 per cent of Netflix households and a tablet in 75 per cent. The percentages are significantly lower across the overall market, at 40 and 67 per cent respectively.
