Al Jazeera, Mixcloud launch on Apple TV
November 4, 2015
Al Jazeera English is amongst the first wave of news outlets available on the newly launched Apple TV, providing the global news and programmes live and on demand.
Users will be able to save videos for later viewing, access all saved content from the Watch List, have 24-hour access to Al Jazeera’s live video stream and follow a full schedule to see what’s coming up later in the day.
“The Al Jazeera English app for Apple TV provides a compelling experience for our loyal viewers and is the most recent addition to our growing portfolio of digital products,” said Ibrahim Hamid, Director of Enterprise and Digital Platforms, Al Jazeera Media Network.
Meanwhile, online radio platform Mixcloud, which offers a catalogue of DJ mixes, radio shows and podcasts to its users, has alsolaunched its app on Apple TV.
Mat Clayton, Co-founder of Mixcloud: “We’re excited to be on the new Apple TV platform as it launches. The living room is a big opportunity for Mixcloud. We launched our Sonos app in beta earlier this year and Apple TV is the next part of our strategy to go big in the home. We’ve got a great catalogue of shows to entertain people at home both alone and with friends, and we’ve built the product to be simple and intuitive with a more lean back experience than our other apps.”
