3D still big in China

A report from IHS Media & Technology says that the 3D box-office is still continuing to grow in China, while 3D’s market share in the US has fallen for the fifth year running.
For 2014 IHS says box office revenues in China “surged” 42 per cent last year to beyond the $2 billion mark. In the US the situation was the opposite as the public’s enthusiasm for 3D cinema movies waned, and had slumped 24 per cent during one quarter-year last year to an annual box office of just $1.4 billion, the lowest since 2009.
For China it seems the cinema-goer cannot get enough 3D, and last year represented a 44.1 per cent share of the overall movie box office.
