Avanti wins South Africa contract

London-based Avanti Communications has won a contract from South Africa’s TV and radio transmission company Sentech. The ‘multi-year’ contract will serve South Africa from Avanti’s Hylas Ka-band satellite which has a footprint covering Southern Africa.
Financial terms or the contract’s value were not disclosed.
“The award of such an important contract for the delivery of vital connectivity to public sector users in South Africa is a strong indication of Avanti’s competitive advantages. Through this valuable partnership with Sentech, we look forward to making a strong contribution to the efficiency of public services across South Africa,” said CEO David Williams in a statement.
Avanti’s share price closed June 9th up 1.38 per cent (3p) to 220p, although this is down on their 240p price a month ago.
