Iran’s state-backed Voice & Vision Organisation intends launch new English and Persian channels, according to a May 30th statement, and reported by BBC Monitoring which quoted the FARS news agency. Iran already broadcasts Press TV in various guises around the world.
“Launching a new English-language TV has been on the agenda of the Voice and Vision Organization for some time now,” Fars reported, adding that the new channel will focus on the Islamic lifestyle.
The channels will occupy one of Iran’s empty satellite slots for broadcasting, Fars reported, adding that the administration of the TV would share the same building with iFilm and Press TV.
