Indonesia: Orange TV deploys Elemental solutions
June 1, 2015
Elemental Technologies, a supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, has revealed that the Orange TV Group is using Elemental video processing to expand and enhance its Genflix OTT content delivery service.
Elemental solutions are enabling the Orange TV Group within PT Mega Media to expand its Genflix service availability on a variety of smart devices and to broaden content offers for subscribers across Indonesia. Genflix, which launched in September 2013 as Indonesia’s first OTT service, will employ Elemental Live and Elemental Server to provide subscribers a smooth viewing experience while watching Genflix’s six linear channels and premium VoD offerings. The Genflix service can be accessed by customers using mobile apps for Google Android and Apple iOS-based phones
“OTT does not have a single standardized delivery technology, digital rights management, or standardized consumption devices compared with direct-to-home broadcast services. Genflix needs flexibility to serve this complex market,” said Bobby Sidharta, Chief Technology Officer of Orange TV. “Elemental has the right technology to meet these needs while taking our future growth plans into account. It has also proven easy to integrate and easy to operate.”
