Peter Kay sets iPlayer record

Comedian Peter Kay’s new sitcom Car Share attracted 5.7 million viewers on BBC1 on April 29th as well as breaking iPlayer records.
Despite already pulling in 1 mlllion requests for the first episode on iPlayer, the show still pulled in an impressive 27 per cent audience share when the first episode aired on BBC1.
Overall 2.8 million requests for the six-part series of Car Share have been made since it was premiered on iPlayer at the weekend as a box-set, a new record.
