US streaming site Hulu has acquired the exclusive SVoD rights for hip-hop drama Empire via a deal with Twentieth Century Fox TV.
All episodes from the first season were already available on the service, but with the new deal all future episodes will now be exclusively hosted on the site.
The show’s first season finale attracted 16.5 million US viewers last week according to Nielsen, which meant the audience for each episode increased over 10 consecutive weeks – an almost unprecedented feat.
