March 17, 2015
Intelsat, a global provider of satellite services, and The SPACECONNECTION, the independent provider of C-Band and Ku-Band satellite space segment, have announced a new, multi-year agreement under which The SPACECONNECTION expanded its capacity commitment on Intelsat’s Galaxy 17 satellite located at 91˚ West and renewed services on Intelsat’s Galaxy 3C satellite located at 95˚ West.
Galaxy 17 is a premier sports neighbourhood within Intelsat’s Galaxy fleet, with marquee sports programming transmitted to cable head-ends throughout North America. By renewing and expanding its agreement with Intelsat, The SPACECONNECTION will continue to provide existing customers with exciting regional and national sports content, as well as leverage the additional capacity to expand its distribution reach in a cable distribution neighborhood that has a 98 per cent penetration of cable head-ends. The agreement also secures continuity of service for The SPACECONNECTION’s current customers at Galaxy 3C .
Jonathan Crawford, President & CEO, The SPACECONNECTION, stated, “The strength and quality of Intelsat’s video neighbourhoods provides tremendous benefits for our customer base. That is why we have partnered with Intelsat for over two decades and look forward to our future success together as we continue to deliver exciting content to our customers.”
