Fox scores US World Cup rights to 2026
February 16, 2015
FIFA, football’s world governing body, is extending the deals for its tournaments through 2026 with Fox.
Fox adds the rights to the US English-language coverage of the 2026 World Cup to its existing agreement for the 2018 and 2022 events. The 2025 Confederations Cups and the 2023 Women’s World Cup are also part of the contract.
Terms of the contracts were not disclosed. In 2011, Fox won the English-language rights for about $425 million for two cycles, outbidding ESPN.
“These events are some of the world’s most important sports competitions, and it is our privilege to be entrusted with these rights in the United States,” Fox said in a statement.
