February 9, 2015
Mauritian telco Emtel has become Manchester United’s first official Triple Play Partner in Africa. The partnership will see Emtel customers enjoy a wide range of exclusive Manchester United contents. Through the MU App, Emtel customers will receive up to date club news, video highlights of the latest games, ringtones, wallpapers and much more via their smartphones or tablets.
Customers will also be able to stream Manchester United content across TV, mobile and Internet platforms, giving fans access to the latest player interviews and behind the scenes footage together with detailed insights into the history of the club. This will be done in conjunction with Canal+ and CanalSat Mauritius.
Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold said that with 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Emtel had shown that it knew what its consumers want and was always leading in the way in new advances and technologies. “Our partnership will not only bring our base of fans in Mauritius new and exclusive content but it will also be delivered in unique and exciting ways,” he added.
Emtel’s CEO Shyam Roy described the partnership as yet another great event in the 25 year innovation-rich history of Emtel. He added that the telco was ready to deliver the experience over its quality 4G/LTE and 3G networks through smart devices and through its associated TV broadcasting operation, MC Vision, to fulfil the diverse lifestyles of its subscribers.
