Fox appoints new MD for Spain & Portugal

Fox International Channels (FIC) has announced the appointment of Vera Pinto Pereira as the new Managing Director of FIC Spain and Portugal. This comes a year after Pinto Pereira joined Fox as Chief Operating Officer for FIC Southern Europe and Africa in January 2014.
Prior to joining FIC, Pinto Pereira launched and managed Portugal Telecom’s Pay-TV platform – MEO. In other previous roles, she was TV Service Director at ZON Optimus (formerly TVCabo) ; and before that she founded Innovagency, a Portuguese consulting company focused on strategic and technological innovation.
Pinto Pereira will continue to report to Adam Theiler, Executive VP of FIC Southern Europe and Africa, who said of her promotion: “Vera joined FIC with extensive and relevant pay-TV experience and has since demonstrated not only her ability to lead across business units but to build first-rate partnerships with our affiliates and advertisers. Her promotion to Managing Director of FIC Spain and Portugal is a testament to her applied vision, persistent drive and tireless dedication to the teams that deliver world class FOX and National Geographic Channels every day. A pioneer in Portuguese Pay-TV, Vera’s new role will allow her a more central, active, role in shaping the future of FIC Channel brands in Iberia.
