HBO Romania debuts home-grown series

On December 28th, HBO Romania will broadcast the first two episodes of Umbre, the new drama series about a Bucharest taxi driver who doubles for the local mafia as a debt collector.
The story unfolds over eight 45-minute episodes, and will be available both on HBO Romania and HBO GO, the Internet streaming service.
As a special free preview, Episode I will be available on December 24th exclusively on HBO GO with episode 2 available free on December 28th.
Antony Root, EVP of Original Programming and Production at HBO Europe, said; “Umbre is a unique and edgy gangster drama that combines great genre story-telling with moments of black comedy. We are very excited to be offering this new signature show to HBO subscribers in Romania.”
Root added that HBO Europe hoped to roll it out across it 15 Eastern European territories as well as the Netherlands and, depending on its reception in Romania, would consider a second series.
