November 26, 2014
Discovery Networks will relaunch Discovery HD Showcase in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on December 1st, with a new logo, a refreshed on-air look and an enriched programming line-up. Viewers will be able to watch exclusive content that cannot be watched anywhere else, along with a unique combination of key shows from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, and now also TLC, ID and ID Xtra.
The channel, which airs in over 120 markets across EMEA, including Poland, Russia, Benelux and Portugal, also changes its name into Discovery Showcase HD, thus putting an emphasis on broadcasting the highlights from the Discovery Networks portfolio. All programmes are available in HD format.
Unai Iparragirre, Director of Passion Brands, Discovery Networks, EMEA said: “I am convinced that audiences with an appetite for diverse, high quality factual programming and a passion for unmatched clarity of image and sound, will find themselves at home on the new Discovery Showcase HD. By watching it, viewers will not just experience the thrill of Discovery Channel, the inspiring and fascinating world of Animal Planet and question everything with Discovery Science. Now they will also be entertained with real-life stories on TLC, and look closer at the scandalous mysteries of ID and ID Xtra. All in glorious HD.”
