Free: ‘No Netflix on their terms’
October 10, 2014
From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
Free will not surrender to Netflix for now, according to Illiad MD Maxime Lombardini, talking at a conference organised by French telecom regulator Arcep.
Not wishing to follow Orange, Bouygues and SFR, Lombardini said that “carrying Netflix under Netflix offered terms, like the others have agreed, it doesn’t seem a good idea to us.”
Netflix is reported to have offered web access suppliers a 10 per cent share of the revenues, while the average ratio in France is more like 30-33 per cent .
