SWISSCOM carriage for TRACE
September 18, 2014
International brand and media group TRACE has signed its first carriage deal with Swisscom.
The distribution agreement will include TRACE Urban SD & HD, an international Hip-Hop and R&B music channel, and TRACE Tropical SD & HD, combining top music videos and documentaries covering a large spectrum of Latin American and Caribbean music genres.
Both music channels in SD will be available to about 1,1 million Swisscom TV customers via the ‘Access’ package. The HD versions via the “HD” package – both channels are available immediately.
Markus Gisi, Head of Swisscom TV Experience, Swisscom said “We wanted to be able to build up a strong, attractive music channel proposition. TRACE Urban and TRACE Tropical music channels were important to underline this strategy, as we wanted to provide the best music channels together on one platform in one offer.”
This deal stems additional growth in Switzerland with TRACE’s portfolio of music and sport entertainment channels.
Laurent Dumeau, SVP Channel Distribution, TRACE said “This new carriage agreement with Swisscom marks the latest expansion of TRACE’s audience in Switzerland and across Europe. The unique proposition of our music channels enables pay-tv operators to provide their passionate music fans with a wider portfolio of music content. We have no doubts that our cutting-edge music programming will broaden the traditional channel offer available to Swisscom subscribers”.
