Amazon Fire TV in UK, Germany

Amazon’s streaming box, Fire TV, will launch in the UK on October 23rd and in Germany on September 25th. The device, which allows users to access on-demand TV, apps and smartphone content as well as games, debuted in the US in April.
The Fire TV box be pre-ordered in the UK for £79 (€100) – with Amazon Prime members able to pre-order it for £49 if done by September 9th. The device will also be available at Argos, Dixons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. The price is €99 in Germany.
Amazon said that the box is designed to offer users access to films and bring photos, music and games to the living room in one place. As well as Netflix and Prime Instant Video, owners of the new box will be able to access Sky News, YouTube as well as music services – Amazon Music, Spotify and TuneIn.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder and CEO said: “Tiny box, huge specs, tons of content, incredible price- customers love Fire TV and we’re thrilled to introduce it in the UK.”
