Egypt reports that three satellite channels are advertising medical products not registered with its Ministry of Health, and will be prosecuted.
The channels, Cairo Drama, Cinema 1 and Panorama film channel, are said by the country’s Consumer Protection Agency to have advertised products that were a danger to public health and included drugs and cosmetics.
The head of the Consumer Protection Agency Atef Yacoub said the Agency’s Media Observatory’s Deceptive Advertising Department has been instructed to take legal action against those channels.
