From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
Canal+ VoD streaming platform Canalplay, which already offers a kids’ section, has gone further in the development of kids’ content with the launch of a dedicated mobile app.
Branded Canalplay Kids, it targets kids from 3 to 10 years old, and is the first step towards other family services and products, said Canal+.
The new app is included into the monthly subscription fee and can be downloaded from iTunes and Google Play to all iOS and Android smartphones.
The library gives access to thousands of kids programming and will be regularly updated with new content and educational services.
Following a partnership with The Walt Disney Company, films from the studio and label Disneynature will be added to the offer next month.
Launched in November 2011, Canalplay streaming service gives access to 9,000 titles, including 1,500 feature films, and has 500,000 subscribers.
