French supermarket chain E. Leclerc is breaking into the pay-TV market with the launch of a TV box starting at €4.99 per month, without any contract.
The group, which already sells Réglo Mobile’s prepaid cards giving access to some pay TV DTT channels, now makes up to 65 channels and VoD services available to new subcribers.
This OTT service will be sold under the Mini Réglo TV brand and will work with any ISP.
Several subscription models will be offered, with the cheapest staring starting at €4.99 to receive 16 channels, in addition to the DTT ones. The Optimal Bouquet will give unlimited access to 200 movies and TV series each month.
The box will also offer replay services and a media centre making photos, music or video viewing possible from the TV set.
“This a la carte offer has been conceived for those who do not want to pay anymore for too many channels they never watch. It also targets households which can’t receive ADSL TV services,” commented group E. Leclerc.
