SMC launches EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and EuroPacketCable 1.5
July 1, 2014
SMC Networks, a global provider of customer premises equipment (CPE) for the complete digital home, has unveiled its E3G1604WV, a 16×4 EuroDOCSIS Voice Gateway, received both EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and EuroPacketCable 1.5 certifications.
SMC started to launch the Veloxite family in 2013 to provide cable operators with a complete portfolio of downstream/upstream channel configurations including 8×4, 16×4 and 24×8 for their residential, small office/home office and small-medium business markets.
The E3G1604WV joins an already substantial family of cable modem, eMTAs and Wi-Fi capable gateways to have been CableLabs Certified in the past year, and is the first in a new line of devices specifically designed for the European market.
“SMC is eager to meet the needs of European cable operators, and is investing substantial R&D dollars into European focused products. The E3G1604WV is a trailblazer for things to come for SMC in Europe,” said VP/GM Sales and Marketing, Europe, Middle-East & Africa JC Francois.
