Multiscreen, media protection and revenue assurance solutions specialist Irdeto has confirmed a new deployment of Irdeto Rights with international cable MSO Liberty Global. The operator will be using Irdeto Rights to deliver content securely to IP devices. Irdeto Rights provides hardened security on a technology agnostic basis across different DRMs in an increasingly complex ecosystem.
Irdeto was selected to protect linear and VoD content as a managed service through the cloud to IP devices. This OTT service is available free of charge to consumers when they subscribe to both Liberty Global’s Internet and TV packages. The service is now live in Ireland and the Netherlands, with additional countries to follow in the coming months.
In addition, Irdeto is working with Liberty Global to secure content over IP via the set-top-box video gateway.
“As the number of connected devices that consumers use to view content increases, operators should be looking to ensure that they are doing their utmost to secure valuable assets and that customers are able to easily access the content they desire on a device of their choosing,” said Graham Kill, CEO, Irdeto. “In selecting Irdeto Rights, Liberty Global has proven that it is committed to protecting premium content, something that Irdeto is proud to be part of.”
