Applicaster integrates with Avid iNEWS
April 2, 2014
Applicaster, a provider of broadcast solutions for cross-screen TV experiences, has integrated its technology with the Avid iNEWS newsroom management system allowing broadcasters to trigger second screen activities directly from the system itself, and send back results to on-screen graphics systems.
The integrated solution enables the broadcast production team to easily launch and operate second screen activities in real time, creating increased viewer engagement and enriched information in news programs, based on audience feedback and content sent through the second screen.
Incorporating second screen activities into iNEWS with Applicaster’s technology enables syncing activities with the rest of the show, so that if there are any delays for a certain event, second screen activities are delayed respectively, just like any other item in an iNEWS show rundown.
“Offering a simplified newsroom workflow adds a whole new layer of information, based on viewers’ input and generated content”, says Liron Deutsch, VP Corporate Development, Applicaster. “This integration will open many more opportunities for second screen activities for news programming, which is not regarded as the typical genre for viewer participation.”
