March 14, 2014
ALi Corporation, a STB solution provider, has confirmed the launch of M3932, a HD smart STB SoC solution based on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat, targeting applications including smart DVB or IPTV set-top boxes, OTT multimedia players, hybrid set-top boxes, and TV dongles. Mass production of M3932 is scheduled in Q2 2014.
M3932’s dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor allows the STB to run Android 4.4 KitKat, which can support 512MB DDR SDRAM, offering optimized cost structure, and faster APK loading speed, providing enhanced user experience. With M3932’s efficient system core architecture, boot-up time is reduced to less than 20 seconds.
Jim Li, General Manager of ALi’s China Business Unit, comments, “ALi leverages our mature hardware, software, and security expertise to launch M3932. By building a highly-integrated and flexible platform based on Android 4.4 and supporting customers with development, testing, and mass production tools, M3932 significantly reduces development time and effort for customers, which translates to faster time-to-market. Furthermore, M3932 provides customers the ability to offer diverse services and brings consumers true freedom to enjoy high definition content across devices.”
