Discovery and OSN bring TLC HD to MENA
March 3, 2014
Discovery Networks International has announced the launch of TLC HD in the Middle East and North Africa. The new channel will be available exclusively on OSN – the region’s leading pay-tv network – and will also showcase the best programming from OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
Launching on March 24th, TLC HD brings the number of Discovery Networks channels currently available on OSN to six, as it joins Discovery Channel HD, Discovery Science HD, Animal Planet HD, Discovery World and Investigation Discovery.
“The launch of TLC HD is hugely exciting for us and marks a key moment in our continuing investment in the Middle East and partnership with OSN,” said James Gibbons, SVP & Country Manager, Discovery Networks CEEMEA. “There is clearly a gap in the market for a channel like TLC – the ultimate destination for the best in female-skewed, entertaining and inspirational content – and its success globally is proof of how well the content works across cultures.”
