January 28, 2014
AMC/Sundance Channel Global, the international division of AMC Networks, has announced that Sundance Channel will launch as a 24-hour linear HD channel and VoD service on VTR in Chile, the largest cable operator in the country. The news follows Sundance Channel’s first-ever launch in Latin America in 2013. The network is now widely available across the region in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Bruce Tuchman, President, AMC/Sundance Channel Global commented, “Sundance Channel has had a warm welcome across Latin America since the network’s pan-regional launch last year. We’re excited to partner with VTR, Chile’s biggest pay-TV distributor, and look forward to delivering our unique blend of high quality, globally renowned film and TV entertainment. We have ambitious growth plans for Sundance Channel, and further expansion across all of Latin America is a key priority for us this year.”
