Fox Sports 2 for Italy
November 26, 2013
Four months after its initial entry into the market, Fox Sports is expanding its offering in Italy with the launch of a second network, Fox Sports 2. The channel will be available exclusively to Sky Italia’s Sport Package subscribers from December 20th.
The programming line-up for Fox Sports 2 will be heavily driven by US sports and will include the NFL with Super Bowl 48 and Euroleague basketball among other premium sports content. The new offer is complimentary to the existing Fox Sports channel, which is dedicated to broadcasting an extensive portfolio of European and international football matches from the BPL, Spanish La Liga. French Ligue, Dutch Eredivisie, MLS and FA Cup alongside the English national team matches.
The launch of Fox Sports 2 in Italy follows FIC’s ongoing sports expansion strategy, which over the past two years has rapidly swelled the brand’s footprint from 17 million households outside of the US to over 71 million subscribers presently.
