Cloud-based TV operator Magine has secured agreements with leading international TV manufacturers: LG Electronics, Panasonic, and TP Vision (for Philips TV). The Magine app will be available on all Smart TVs sold by these manufacturers in a number of key European territories.
The availability of the Magine app on these Smart TV manufacturer platforms gives subscribers the freedom to watch live linear, time-shifted, and recorded TV from a variety of broadcast channels.
“We are very pleased to have several of the market’s most important TV manufacturers – LG Electronics, Panasonic, and Philips – as cooperating partners,” said Mattias Hjelmstedt, CEO of Magine. “Thanks to their confidence in us, Magine’s Smart-TV app will now be accessible to a wider audience than ever before. We’re certain that Magine will enhance what Smart-TVs already offer, enabling users to discover a totally new kind of viewing experience.”
Beyond offering a comprehensive range of channels in one easily navigable form, users of Magine’s Smart-TV app can connect or ‘pair’ their smartphone or tablet with their television set via a QR code. The mobile device can then serve as a remote control or as a second screen, allowing viewers to read background information about the currently running film or to share comments about TV highlights with friends via social media.
