ITV extends Tour De France rights
September 13, 2013
ITV has renewed its agreement with the Tour De France to continue showing the cycling race until 2019. The UK commercial broadcaster has held the rights since 2002.
The deal, struck with the EBU and Amaury Sport Organisation, also includes the rights to show four other events from 2016 to 2019 – Criterium Dauphine, Criterium International, Liege Bastogne Liege and Paris Roubaix.
ITV’s director of sport Niall Sloane commented: “ITV has a long-standing commitment to showing key cycling events and it has been wonderful to witness the growth of the sport’s popularity in recent years.”
