Thailand’s National Broadcasting & Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has ‘sold’ seven sets of bidding documents for the upcoming auction process for digital terrestrial TV. There could be far more coming because the pre-bidding process doesn’t close until September 12th, and earlier indications were that up to about 38 bidders were potentially interested in capacity.
NBTC vice chairman Natee Sukonrat says three of the potential bids are seeking bandwidth for standard definition variety (general entertainment) channels.
The listed bidders include Bangkok Broadcasting Television, Ch 7 operator; BBTV Sattelvision; Rose Media Entertainment; Post T; GMM HD Digital; GMM SD Digital; and Touch TV.
