TRACE Sports signs Yes
August 14, 2013
The sports entertainment channel’s most recent agreement is a carriage deal with YES, Israel’s satellite television provider.
TRACE Sports will launch on YES as a localized channel with full Hebrew subtitles, and will feature items on local sports celebrities, which will be produced and operated by Imagine Media Israel Ltd. As part of the carriage deal, TRACE Sports will be available on channel 60 to 80% of YES subscribers – via their sports package, for no additional fee.
The new deal with YES continues TRACE Sports’ rapid expansion since launching in October 2011. TRACE Sports is the first channel exclusively dedicated to sports celebrities and has already beamed into 30 million homes in 104 countries.
Laurent Dumeau, CEO, TRACE Sports, said: “TRACE Sports has made strong headway in a crowded pay TV market over the past year. After successful launches in Europe, Asia and Latin America, we are continuing our expansion in the Middle East, making TRACE Sports one of the fastest acquired growing channels in the world. We are delighted to be expanding our footprint in Israel with one of the country’s major operators.”
